Community Cultivation

Cultivating Community through the cultivation of food.

The Neighborhood Garden Project brings decades of agricultural experience and practical instruction to people interested in cultivating food together. We begin with conversations and visits, learning what people care about and whether our experience could be useful.

Through four years of tending community gardens, we’ve come to understand our work as cultivating the conditions in which life grows. For us, the garden has been a place of formation. Planting, watering, observing, and tending together give us time to practice patience, carry responsibility, and learn from one another. The food is fruit we share after a season that has shaped us too.

We’d welcome a conversation about your ministry, the people in your community, what interests them, and whether our experience could be useful.

You may have a garden already, be considering one, or simply have questions. We’d be glad to hear what you have in mind.
